Fragment from http://www.squidoo.com/dorincard, translated from English into Chinese (Simplified)

I will re-post the above maxicards/ maximum cards, with more details and comments. For now, I'll just display them as a sample of MCs from PR China, either officially produced by China Post or custom created by me with Chinese partners/friends.

maximaphily =收集极限明信片(明信片+印花税+邮戳)Maximaphily

maximaphily = collecting maximum cards (postcard + stamp + postmark)

Maximaphily

Maximaphily is a branch of philately, or stamp collecting, that means collecting maximum cards.
Generally, a maximum card is a postcard, with a stamp and a postmark on the picture side. Ideally, all these 3 elements should be concordant, but not identical.
The traditional way is to comply with the rules of FIP (International Philatelic Federation).
http://www.maximaphily.info
The non-traditional way, as I call it, is to follow nobody's rules! Unless YOU want it, of course.
I call DORINCARD any postcard that was personalized by adding a stamp and a postmark, on the picture side of the postcard. Traditional way, or not. :)

This stamp design was not printed/ordered yet. You could be the first owner of it, worldwide! :)

I don't have enough disposable income to actually buy ALL the stamp designs that I create at zazzle.com.
Some of my stamp designs are so rare that there is only 1 sheet of 20 stamps in the whole world (like the "no text" version of the above); or THERE IS NO sheet of 20 stamps in existence, yet, like this text version of my Su Lin stamp design.
What other company/country allows you to create and display, without ordering/buying, a personalized stamp design product?

Lovely giant panda cub Su Lin, from San Diego Zoo - the "no text" version of my Zazzle stamp

Tai Shan is an avid tree-climber - the text version of my Zazzle stamp

Also, I have shifted the image so the Zoo tree, with its anti-climbing metallic trunk wrap is less visible.
This way, the image looks more wildlife than Zoo life.

Lovely Giant Panda maximum card maxicard #3. Created only a few zazzle customized postage personalized stamps

"- Condition: circulated, postmarked in Washington, D.C., near the Zoo; large size stamp (more expensive to produce)!  2.5x1.5 inches (63x38 mm); 4.5x6 inches (107x152 mm) postcard. The automated spray-on postmark is smeared because the postcard is glossy and the postal manager refused to handcancel it for me, without even seeing or knowing that it's a Zazzle stamp. "I ain't gonna do no handcanceling!" [whatsoever, for any mailpiece].
- Year: 2008 postmark; I have designed this 2007 stamp.
- Catalog value: Only 20 stamps created; 3 (at least) I keep, 17 (at most) still available. This denomination is no longer available for future orders, as the current first class rate is 44 cents.
So, nobody else in the world can offer this item, freestyle maximum card with giant panda customized postage, exactly as shown.

The Zazzle customized postage (personalized stamps, personalised stamps) are perfectly valid for postage, as demonstrated by this circulated item."

In conclusion, this is and will remain a unique item in the world in this exact configuration. No additional copies.

LOVELY GIANT PANDA CUSTOM MAXIMUM CARD MAXICARD #8 HONG KONG CHINA. BEAUTIFUL FDOI PICTORIAL POSTMARK

Click to zoom in...Click to zoom in...Click to zoom in...Click to zoom in...
Click to zoom in...Click to zoom in...

I am reproducing here my listing from delcampe.com, because it's instructive about what can you still do, when FIP and everybody else tell you that there's nothing you can do, in the given context.

" CONDITION: uncirculated, collector-created, dorincard (= custom maximum card / maxicard) created with a cut-out postmarked stamp from a First Day Cover with the series of 4 different stamps featuring  Ying Ying and Le Le giant pandas.
- YEAR: I have obtained the FDOI First Day of Issue PICTORIAL POSTMARK on each (!) of the 4 stamps, from Hong Kong, China, July 1, 2008.
- CATALOG VALUE: Only 4 such SPECIAL FDCs (First Day Covers) were created for me by my friend in Hong Kong. I have already cut 1 FDC to create 4 custom maximum cards (see my other listings). Depending on the popular demand, I may choose to use the remaining 2 FDCs (because I already sold 1 of these 4 FDCs) to create custom maximum cards, with one postmarked stamp (cut-out from 3 FDCs) per postcard.
I prefer to create and collect maximum cards.
I have seen other, official FDCs having cachet, but a NON-PICTORIAL FDOI postmark.

For your information, I am showing images of all 4 stamps, and of other postcards that I could use ON DEMAND, WHILE SUPPLIES LAST, to create a custom maximum card according to your preferences.
Contact me for details.

My friend from Hong Kong told me, if I understood correctly, that when Hong Kong Post  applies a First Day of Issue date or pictorial postmark on a glossy maximum card presented by a collector, the ink WILL SMEAR / SMUDGE. Unless the collector rips with tape the UV protective layer of the glossy postcard.
Also, Hong Kong Post (HKP) usually applies only one (1) pictorial postmark (or a non-pictorial postmark) onto several stamps (a series of 4 here) affixed to an official FDC.
In other words, it´s impossible (again - if I understood correctly) to obtain from HKP a FIP-traditional maximum card, with a CLEAN PICTORIAL POSTMARK on your glossy, untreated  postcard.
That´s why I had to find a solution."

Maximum card: Red Panda / Lesser Panda (Ailurus fulgens) from Taiwan ROC

Republic of China (ROC) = Taiwan.
People's Republic of China = (mainland) China.

The top MC (maximum card) is official issue of Taiwan Post - very nice.
The other maximum card was created specially for me, at my specific request, by my good friend S. in Taiwan. Thank you! :)
She is one of the best philatelic partners/friends that I have on 6 continents (nobody yet at a research base in Antarctica - I'm working on it :) ).

Starting with the existing stamp, she found a great image online (even more matching than the official image), then she asked for permission to reproduce it.
I think those images were already released into public domain, but anyway.

Then she designed and ordered custom picture postcards.
Then she went to her post office and obtained clean local postmarks on such maximum cards. As a philatelic handback, she took them right back and sent me the whole batch in an envelope. One MC from each different design.

I love her custom MCs even more! Besides, there's only 1 MC made in each exact configuration - unless she liked them so much that she created more, for herself :D .

Top 30 Stamp Collecting Blogs, by guidetoartschools.com

#2:
"Dorincard: Blogger Dorin C is a stamp and postcard fanatic, and luckily he's more than pleased to write prolifically and charmingly about his obsession. He has a particular bent for stamps with wild mammals on them, but his blog demonstrates an affinity for stamps of all forms and backgrounds, as long as they offer a special narrative that's worth sharing with his readers.

Postcards and stamps, mainly featuring mammals and birds but Dorincard also has other creations
and interests he likes to share.
His enthusiasm for Maximum cards (a postcard and a similar themed stamps sent through the
    postal system) shines through.
He shows how he gets the right card, stamp and postmark together.
Visiting his site you will also learn things about the natural world told with a dry sense of humour,

Topical and informative both for the enthusiast and casual visitor.
