Geopolitical Journey, Part 7: Poland | STRATFOR - and a horse maximum card from Poland

Geopolitical Journey, Part 7: Poland | STRATFOR

I like very much not only WHAT George Friedman has to say, but HOW he says it.
"Le style c'est l'homme".
Meaningful and enjoyable reading! :)

========================================================
This is the only maximum card that I have, so far, from Poland. But there are so many more interesting Polish stamps, postmarks and postcards that could be used to create interesting  maxicards...:)
Is it the same breed of horse on the stamp and on the postcard? I don't know. Do you? Only an expert could say. Anyway, I like it as it is, even if there might be different breeds. What I wouldn't like, though, would be if the breeds are clearly VERY different - then it would look awkward. :)

Bravo, Spain! Fiesta con Iniesta...y los otros, sin embargo!...:)

This stamp (that can be ordered/bought, I hope) could be the first in the world celebrating this victory. I'll submit it now to zazzle for approval.

One of the best footballers in the world!

I wish I could show you here some maximum cards/maxicards/tarjetas maximas with the beautiful Barcelona, for example, but I just don't have!
Maybe some partners/friends will send me, someday. :)

maximaphily = collecting maximum cards (postcard + stamp + postmark)
Maximaphily

Maximaphily is a branch of philately, or stamp collecting, that means collecting maximum cards.
Generally, a maximum card is a postcard, with a stamp and a postmark on the picture side. Ideally, all these 3 elements should be concordant, but not identical.
The traditional way is to comply with the rules of FIP (International Philatelic Federation).
http://www.maximaphily.info
The non-traditional way, as I call it, is to follow nobody's rules! Unless YOU want it, of course.
I call DORINCARD any postcard that was personalized by adding a stamp and a postmark, on the picture side of the postcard. Traditional way, or not. :)

Congratulations! Canada - USA: 3 - 2 in hockey

rlv.zcache.com

"Glory to the winners, honor to the losers!" But the defeated are never losers in the derogatory sense; they deserve credit for putting up a great fight, with fair play. They all deserve our respect and gratitude for their great sports performance.
I just created and submitted for approval this personalized stamp. I could create more, for so many other great moments in all sports. Great champions from USA, Romania, and many other countries. Besides, not just the champions deserve all that...

Superb cover from Finland: 3D/lenticular/stereoscopic mini-sheet of 4 stamps Winter Sports

As you can see, it was sent to me.
At my special request, by my special local Finnish friend M.  Thank you VERY MUCH for this and your wonderful postcards and maximum cards.
BREAKING NEWS: I will send you a set of Disney movies maximum cards, that you like so much!
I created only 3 such sets!

We had an excellent exchange of maximum cards and postcards!
I would be ecstatic if I had at least 1 partner/friend like her in every postal autonomy in the world! :)

As I tilt the envelope, I see various positions and images. Super cool!
Congratulations, Suomi/Finland Post, for joining the philatelic ranks of Austria Post and only a few others, such as Bhutan and Tonga, in the category of  The Most Innovative and Open-Minded Postal Administrations!

I created a new Zazzle stamp (personalized stamp): MAHATMA

If you think that the stamp color scheme that I have chosen evokes the flag of the Republic of India (Hindiभारत गणराज्य Bhārat Gaṇarājya) - you're right.

Mohandas K. "Mahatma" Gandhi's statue in front of the Embassy of India, Washington, D.C.
Yes, he spoke softly (but convincingly).
And yes, he was carrying a long stick - but not for violent purposes.
No Kendo fighting, and no "attitude adjuster" purpose.
Unfortunately, there are many times and places where non-violence just DOESN'T WORK.
"Watcha gonna do, watcha gonna do
When they come for you?
Bad boys, bad boys..."
Then you find a method that works.
"The only way to beat a BULLY is to be a bigger BULLY" - said Muhammad Ali, my most favorite boxer.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Year of the Tiger Shark - look carefully at this
shark(s) image below (click on the image):

I want you to notice that the bait was grabbed by a tiger shark ("THE BULLY"), and then he himself was grabbed by a much bigger tiger shark ("THE BIGGER BULLY").
Yeah, same species, but hey! Nothing personal - just business (hunting for food).
Reality check: survival of the "baddest". The "best" during the decisive moment.
Human society is no different. Or is it?

A phenomenal female guitarist:

"Orianthi Panagaris, known mononymously as Orianthi, is an Australian singer and guitarist. Orianthi is best known for being Michael Jackson's guitarist for his comeback concert series, This Is It. Her debut single "According to You" has peaked at #6 in Australia and #21 in the US, and her debut album Believe was released throughout the last three months of 2009 worldwide."
"Orianthi was born in Adelaide, South Australia, of Greek descent. She suffered against bullies in her schooling years and had to change schools a number of times.[citation needed] She eventually attended the prestigious school Cabra Dominican College where she found herself happy and bully free."

Top 30 Stamp Collecting Blogs, by guidetoartschools.com

#2:
"Dorincard: Blogger Dorin C is a stamp and postcard fanatic, and luckily he's more than pleased to write prolifically and charmingly about his obsession. He has a particular bent for stamps with wild mammals on them, but his blog demonstrates an affinity for stamps of all forms and backgrounds, as long as they offer a special narrative that's worth sharing with his readers.

Postcards and stamps, mainly featuring mammals and birds but Dorincard also has other creations
and interests he likes to share.
His enthusiasm for Maximum cards (a postcard and a similar themed stamps sent through the
    postal system) shines through.
He shows how he gets the right card, stamp and postmark together.
Visiting his site you will also learn things about the natural world told with a dry sense of humour,
possibly with a play on words, and a unique style of headings.
Topical and informative both for the enthusiast and casual visitor.
