Geoffrey Rush non-FIP maximum card, by Australia Post

Geoffrey Rush, originally uploaded by enokilover.
Two stamps, not one!...."sacrilege against FIP!"...:)

....and the actor is alive!
The USPS wouldn't issue a stamp about a living person. Gotta wait 5 years after death, or 1 year after a US President's death.
But Australia Post, and a few other more open-minded postal administrations, see no problem with that. Just opportunities.

That's how USPS has lost, over time, many millions of dollars in potential revenue: "no living persons featured on [USPS] stamps!".
One of the worst postal/philatelic decisions ever made.

I like Geoffrey -  I think he his a non-flamboyantly clever man, who knows how to be a very convincing actor with as little as eye/gaze/smile play. He doesn't need to gesticulate a lot, to stretch his face, to shout and other idiotic/buffoonish things.
Even if he could perhaps do all of the above, if required by the role, he can surely act in a subtler way.
Hunks and studs are gorgeous and useful, but occasionally you may enjoy watching or interacting with a clever, in a non-annoying way, man.

Best wishes to you and yours, Geoffrey! :)

Russell Crowe non-FIP maximum card, by Australia Post

Two stamps instead of one...OMG! blasphemy!...:)
See Australia Post for details.
Something to Crowe about...

I like Russell Crowe. "Ruggedly handsome", as someone said.
:)
I watched him evolve, as an actor, from a "supporting actor" in a movie with great studs/stallions/brumbies, to movies where HE was, maybe, the great stud/leading man/Macho Camacho, or he was The Irish-American Stallion (so-to-speak à la Rocky) in "Cinderella Man".
I like that he does his best, ranging from intellectual roles and very physical roles, to assimilate that character and play it very truthfully.
He doesn't walk away from hard work/hard training/grueling experiences/unflattering scenes for his civilian ego. If he goes thru smoking fire, he'll show you his mucus activated, as in real life.

To his role, he gives all his resources, and I generally like very much the results.

As a "civilian", he's also true to his emotions, smashing sometimes a thing or two.
Russell Crowe doesn't go gaga over cocky "papa-papa-paparazzi", so he may jump to prove that A Beautiful Mind can coexist with a Gladiator body.

Best wishes to you and yours, Russell! :)

Whether a maximum card is FIP-compliant or not, I still call it a Dorincard. This one is NOT.

I invite you to tell me WHY this is not FIP-compliant.
In a related story, I could tell you WHY I don't care, in this case.
Should you jump on me for calling this "a maximum card", I could instantly tell you "it's a Dorincard", a term that includes all the FIP-compliant maximum cards, and then some.
:)
BTW, this is just a temporary juxtaposition of those elements; I didn't affix/apply them yet.
Just a demo/comp/project/study/idea.

Top 30 Stamp Collecting Blogs, by guidetoartschools.com

#2:
"Dorincard: Blogger Dorin C is a stamp and postcard fanatic, and luckily he's more than pleased to write prolifically and charmingly about his obsession. He has a particular bent for stamps with wild mammals on them, but his blog demonstrates an affinity for stamps of all forms and backgrounds, as long as they offer a special narrative that's worth sharing with his readers.

Postcards and stamps, mainly featuring mammals and birds but Dorincard also has other creations
and interests he likes to share.
His enthusiasm for Maximum cards (a postcard and a similar themed stamps sent through the
    postal system) shines through.
He shows how he gets the right card, stamp and postmark together.
Visiting his site you will also learn things about the natural world told with a dry sense of humour,
possibly with a play on words, and a unique style of headings.
Topical and informative both for the enthusiast and casual visitor.
