The national holiday of Romania, the Great Union Day (also called Unification Day[1]) occurring on December 1, commemorates this event. The holiday was set after the 1989 Romanian Revolution, and marks the unification not only of Transylvania, but also of the provinces of Banat, Bessarabia and Bukovina with the Romanian Kingdom, in 1918, the Union of Transylvania with Romania being the last event, sealing the unification of the country."

1 The Little Union refers to the double election ofAlexander John Cuza in Wallachia and Moldavia (January 5, respectively January 24, 1859). 2 Independence proclaimed on May 9, 1877, internationally recognized in 1878. 3 The Great Union was the union of Romania withBessarabia, Bukovina and Transylvania in 1918 and the creation of Greater Romania. 4 The leu was redenominated on July 1, 2005. As of that date 10,000 (old) lei (ROL) = 1 (new) leu (RON). 5 The .eu domain is also used, as in other European Unionmember states. |

Top 30 Stamp Collecting Blogs, by guidetoartschools.com
#2:
"Dorincard: Blogger Dorin C is a stamp and postcard fanatic, and luckily he's more than pleased to write prolifically and charmingly about his obsession. He has a particular bent for stamps with wild mammals on them, but his blog demonstrates an affinity for stamps of all forms and backgrounds, as long as they offer a special narrative that's worth sharing with his readers.

- Maximum Delight
- Feb 21, 2011
Postcards and stamps, mainly featuring mammals and birds but Dorincard also has other creations
and interests he likes to share.
His enthusiasm for Maximum cards (a postcard and a similar themed stamps sent through the
postal system) shines through.
He shows how he gets the right card, stamp and postmark together.
Visiting his site you will also learn things about the natural world told with a dry sense of humour,
possibly with a play on words, and a unique style of headings.
Topical and informative both for the enthusiast and casual visitor.
