Read this from BBC: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/africa/country_profiles/1068674.stm
"Geographically the country is flat and up to 70% of Botswana is covered by the Kalahari Desert. It is bordered by South Africa to the south and southeast, Namibia to the west and north, and Zimbabwe to the northeast. It meets Zambia at a single point.
A small, landlocked country of just over two million people, Botswana was one of the poorest countries in Africa at the time it gained independence from Britain in 1966, with a GDP per capita of about US$70. Botswana has transformed itself, moving into the ranks of middle-income status to become one of the fastest growing economies in the world with its average annual growth rate of about 9 percent with a GDP (purchasing power parity) per capita of about $14,800 (2010 IMF estimate)."
Notice the cool, unusual, triangular postmark!
How many color variations of Lechwe do you think there are?
Don't sweat it: 3.
Red, Brown and Black.
There's no Khaki Lechwe, trust me.
"Red Lechwe or Zambesi Lechwe (Kobus l. leche) - most of range. Overall tawny-fawn with black to front of front legs."

That sure is a big increase in GDP.
Trust me - you're never boring, Dorin. Great cards and narrative to go with them as usual. Always worth a read to go with the look!
Nice to read good news from Africa. I've always wanted to visit the Kalahari desert, maybe I could pick up a few diamonds on the way:-)
Very nice. I didn't realize there had been such an impressive gain in GDP. I was there in...well...let's just say it was a long time ago and spent a wonderful week in the Kalahari Desert. The landscape is truly amazing.
Triangular postmark - cool!

interesting article...we've heard so much about "blood" or "conflict diamonds" of late it's good to see that there are countries that are using diamonds to help their peaceful nations grow.
I had never given Africa much thought over the last years, but now the name catches my eye immediately! Will have to study the map - but I do know where Mozambique is! Happy PFF, Dorin.
Thanks for your nice comments on my blog Dorin. Of course I will do a review. I always learn lots on Dorincard, see nice maxi cards AND smile at your humour. Where else could I do that.
