Example of a "standard" / definitive stamp / ("timbru uzual", in Romanian): a 50 bani stamp with a Romanian folkloric handcrafted PLOSCA (wooden flask, portable container for water, or wine...). Per Postcardy's request, I also show you the entire 16-stamps series, an image from freestampcatalogue.com

An example from a Romanian website:

The front side of the above MAXICARD:
"The Wallcreeper (Tichodroma muraria) is a small passerine bird found throughout the high mountains of Eurasia."- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tichodroma_muraria
"Dryas octopetala (common names include mountain avenswhite dryas, and white dryad) is an arctic-alpine flowering plant in the family Rosaceae. It is a small prostrate evergreen subshrub forming large colonies, and is a popular flower in rock gardens. The specific epithet octopetaladerives from the Greek octo (eight) and petalon (petal), referring to the eight petals of the flower, an unusual number in the Rosaceae, where five is the normal number. However flowers with up to 16 petals also occur naturally" .http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dryas_octopetala

  1. Now I know what a PLOSCA is, but I am curious about whether it is part of a series.

  3. The stamps make a nice series, but I am just as intrigued by the postcard with the dedicated spaces for the address. I often find it hard to fit anything into the address portion of the cards I write!

  4. Thanks for adding the series. I tried to search for them, but didn't know the year or name.

You can see nice clean pictures of the Presidents Series if you click the link that says "source."

  5. I do like the series but I must admit like the Wallcreeper more.

  6. It's interesting to see a series with stamps of a different size; I like the subject and objects shown as well.

My cyberguests: thank you for taking time and mental energy to leave a comment!
Your ongoing feedback is always appreciated.
If you never return, it is my fault for boring (?) you.
If you return, it is your merit to have discovered a blog worth exploring and following. :)
