What do YOU know about quail (not that it would be crucial for you to know anything about it)?
"The Common Quail, Coturnix coturnix, is a small bird in the pheasant family Phasianidae.
It is widespread and is found in parts of Europe, Asia and Africa with several subspecies recognized.
They are also bred and kept as poultry in some parts of the world both for eggs and meat."
UPDATE: ""Read my lips: no new taxes" is a now-famous phrase spoken by then presidential candidate George H. W. Bush at the 1988 Republican National Convention as he accepted the nomination on August 18. Written by speechwriter Peggy Noonan, the line was the most prominentsound bite from the speech."
Now, which politician best fits THIS description?
"It is notoriously difficult to see, keeping hidden in crops, and reluctant to fly, preferring to creep away instead. Even when flushed, it keeps low and soon drops back into cover. Often the only indication of its presence is the distinctive "wet-my-lips" repetitive song of the male."
No, it's not Dan...Quayle.
Find that politician, and flush him out!
"Wet-my-lips", eh?...

Today, Q is for Quail. :)
Quails' eggs are tiny but then quail aren't very large, really:-)
ReplyDeleteSorry, but it was George Bush #1 who said, "Read my lips..." ("no new taxes"). Thoughts of his Vice President, Dan Quayle, make me quake.
